Meet #1 Cochran Team Member, Keith Talackine

Keith is a Service Technician at #1 Cochran Hyundai of Monroeville and has been part of Team Cochran for nearly six years.

• First job: Cutting grass in my neighborhood … I called it Keith’s Lawn Service (1 team member strong!)
• Three things you’ll always find in my refrigerator: cheese, some type of meat (steak) and salsa
• Favorite movie and why: Rocky (the whole series) … it proves your heart and soul can produce a winner in you, even if you might not succeed
• Favorite book and why: Wild At Heart ….by John Eldredge; it challenges men to get back to being the men that God called us to be
• Favorite inspirational quote:  “When the people fear their government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.”—Thomas Jefferson
• If the story of my life was made into a movie, the actor who would portray me would be: Tony Danza or Al Pacino
• The most famous person that I’ve ever met was: Mickey Mouse at Disney World in Florida
• When I was growing up, my friends called me:  Italian Stallion or Chinie
• My favorite business for exceptional customer service: Chick-Fil-A …. they are always nice and smiling
• My dream vacation:  Alaskan Cruise
• Favorite restaurant: Piccolo Forno
• Favorite entertainer: Morgan Freeman and Robert DeNiro
• Favorite home-cooked meal: ravioli and Corn Flake potatoes
• Dream car: 1966 Shelby Cobra
• Secret vice: I always stretch every morning because flexibility is key to a healthy body
• You’d be surprised to know the following interesting facts about me: I ran a 4:41 mile in my junior year. I took 3^rd place in a poker tournament. I almost became a State Champ in wrestling as a junior (took 2^nd place).
• Top three things on my “bucket list”:  go to the Great Wall of China, scuba at the Great Barrier Reef and see all of the west coast
• The farthest destination from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that I’ve ever been to on this Earth was:  Mexico
• If I could have dinner with any famous person, living or dead, I would choose to have dinner with:  George Washington… I believe he was a great leader, and would want to understand what kept him motivated through his great journey
• Three things in life I can do without: taxes, traffic and sickness
• Favorite coach ever: Mr. Sillanoff … he took our basketball team to the playoffs when our tallest player was 5’4” in 8^th grade. He taught us to have the heart of lions and never give up.

After Rigorous Testing, 2012 Hyundai Azera Named Top Safety Pick

The 2012 Hyundai Azera is named top safety pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)!  To be named “top pick”, the vehicle must get a top score in IIHS crash tests which are tougher than federal tests and include front, side, rear and rollover crash tests.  Plus, in a rollover, the roof must be able to withstand four times the vehicles weight.

The 2012 #1 Cochran Weight Loss Results are in …

#1 Cochran team members started the year off with a mission to become healthier, happier and ready for swimsuit season.  Months of hard work and dedication resulted in a grand total of 909.5 pounds lost!

The first place team as well as the top three individual weight loss winners will be treated to lunch by Rob Cochran so he can personally applaud their remarkable efforts.  The top three individual winners and members of the top three teams will also receive American Express gift cards.

1. Kenyetta Jones – 71.4 pounds (23.63% of total body weight)
2. Howie Larson – 47.6 pounds (17.59% of total body weight)
3. Bob Johnston – 42.6 pounds (16.04% of total body weight)

Does Your Child Have What it Takes to Manage the Pirates?

#1 Cochran is the official sponsor of  Kids Take the Field  at PNC Park.  Before each Sunday regular season home game, 10 children between the ages of 5 and 14 are introduced live, featured on the main scoreboard and take a designated position on the Pirates‘ field.  The real treat is when the Pittsburgh Pirate that really plays that position takes their place on the field and signs a ball for the child.

The manager’s position is designated for the #1 Fan of the Game who will be randomly picked through a drawing on http://www.cochran.com/pirates-tickets-drawing.  The #1 Fan of the Game will be met on the field by Pirates Manager, Clint Hurdle.

In addition to an autographed ball, the #1 Fan of the Game receives four tickets to the game plus a prize pack with a Pirates hat and replica jersey.

Move Over Bryce Harper …

If you’re a baseball fan, you’ve likely heard of Washington Nationals rookie, Bryce Harper.  Harper has already made a big impact on his team and the sport in general.  Well, #1 Cochran has a connection with our very own Bryce Harper.  He’s the son of Dirk Harper, #1 Cochran’s Director of Customer Care and Owner Loyalty.  Our Bryce Harper isn’t in the Big Leagues … YET!  Check back in about 9 or 10 years and maybe the Pittsburgh Pirates will be lucky enough to have this budding ball player on their roster!
